621 Nitric Acid Veritas Double Distilled
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for Environmental Health, intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to small business GFS Chemicals, for the purchase of 621 Nitric Acid, Veritas Double Distilled. This contract is for supplies/services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.
The program performs trace element analysis (parts per trillion levels) of urine to quantify the exposure of populations to environmental chemicals and how that exposure changes over time (across multiple years). The program is currently in the middle of multi-year biomonitoring studies where laboratory performance must be maintained consistently throughout. Chemicals used in this laboratory's reagents must have consistently very low concentrations of trace elements to permit the lab to consistently detect trace elements in urine samples. Compatibility and continuity with previous lab method performance can be achieved using nitric acid from GFS Chemicals.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within ten (10) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
