3-Year Satellite Bandwidth Service
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Vicksburg District Contracting Office intends to solicit and award on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106 to DRS Technical Services, Inc. in Herndon, VA. The Contracting Officer has determined that only one source is reasonably available based on the fact that DRS Technologies installed the equipment and has provided the satellite service for the past three years. Their familiarity with the equipment and remote operation has assured reliability in the system and offers a knowledgeable source to trace and troubleshoot malfunctions that may occur in the remote operation.
However, all information received within (3) calendar days after date of publication of this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not pay for information received. The NAICS code for this procurement is 517410 with size standard of $30.0 mil.
