General Engineering Consultant Preliminary Application

The intent of this preliminary application is for general engineering services, including but not limited to, preliminary and final design engineering, construction engineering, inspections, administration and management of capital and public projects for CSX. The function of a General Engineering Consultant (GEC) will consist of assisting CSX Managers with overall project design, build, and management. This could include but is not limited to reviews, estimating, negotiations, meetings with public agencies, project permitting, construction inspections and oversight, and project closeout documentation. Projects may be in the areas of facilities, railroad and highway bridges, at-grade crossings, and track work. The scope of services will be project specific and may range from very limited to full engineering design and construction management. Depending on the specific project scope, the services to be provided may require civil, structural, electrical, mechanical (not locomotives or cars), environmental, geotechnical, and architectural expertise.
