2009 Housing Element Public Outreach Program San Mateo County
The Planning Department is soliciting proposals for the public outreach
component of the Housing Element Update. The selected consultant will work in
collaboration with County staff to gather public input through various
communication channels appropriate for engaging different constituents. Part of
this work will involve planning, preparing for, and facilitating a series of
community meetings and/or workshops focused on housing topics. The
consultant will help the County develop an outreach strategy, develop and
prepare outreach materials (including materials to be posted to the Countys
website), determine appropriate methods for engaging various constituents
throughout the county (e.g. using the Planning Departments webpage, email,
community bulletins and/or newsletters, etc.), schedule and publicize meetings,
facilitate and record meetings, and record and summarize meeting results and
other input gathered through additional communication channels for County use
in the Housing Element Update.
