The Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation seeks to improve the lives of children, adolescents, and families affected by psychological disorders and substance abuse.
The 2006 Request for Proposals (RFP) seeks to accomplish this by providing funds for the implementation of evidence-based practices that have been designed to provide prevention and early-intervention services to youth and families at risk for psychological disorders and substance abuse. For this initiative, evidenced-based practices are those that have been empirically validated as being successful in achieving the desired outcomes.
The ultimate goal of the RFP is to increase access to optimally-effective treatments that have proven to be successful in increasing protective factors and resiliency in children and adolescents at risk for psychological disorders and substance abuse through improved family interactions, increased parental involvement, decreased child behavior problems, and improved school functioning. Grants will be made to eligible organizations that wish to incorporate evidence-based practices into their service delivery systems.
