B.3 STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)

INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this statement of work is to obtain one-hundred (100) high-quality, ergonomic office task chairs. The selected task chair is intended to address employees of both sexes that fall into the 95th percentile range of height.


SPECIFICATIONS

General Specifications:

The task chair base will have a five-point base unit with casters that will roll easily across carpeted floors. The casters should be large enough to require minimum effort to move the chair.

The seat pan will be adjustable for forward and backward tilt angle independent of lumbar support adjustment.

The forward leading edge of the seat pan shall cascade to a rounded edge that has a downward sloping angle, and shall have a concave contour for even weight distribution.

The entire upper chair assembly will be capable of 360-degree rotation.

The backrest will be contoured to provide maximum lumbar support.

Arm supports shall be made of high quality material and fully adjustable and removable. The height adjustment will be at least two and one-half inches, as measured from the lowest position of the armrest to the full-extended position of the armrest. The armrest should be easily removed and adjusted without the use of any tools. Armrests shall have textured pads.

Adjustment mechanisms (i.e., multifunction) shall be readily operable and within easy reach of the task chair user. Adjustments will be capable of being accomplished without the use of tools. All adjustment mechanisms should be provided with labels as to their function.

Specific Specifications:

The roller casters should be removable and capable of being replaced.

The seat pan shall measure at least 16 deep and 22 wide.

The lumbar support (fully adjustable), backrest and seat pan shall be designed to alleviate pressure points, allow proper circulation, and support a perched posture.

The task chair height shall have an adjustment from 16 to 22 .

The task chair style is considered highback and will have a backrest that measures at least 22 in height as measured from the bottom of the backrest to the top of the backrest. The backrest must be contoured to provide lumbar support and be adjustable for height and for angles ranging from behind the vertical to forward of the vertical position. The back support should have a vertical height adjustment span of at least three and one-half inches. The height adjustment may be achieved with one gross adjustment or with a combination of adjustment mechanisms.

The seat pan shall adjust forward at least 2 . This action will move the seat pan forward away from the backrest for prescribed distance and provide a longer seat pan reach.

Seat capacity: minimum 300 lbs.

Task Chair frame and base color: black and brushed aluminum.

Task Chair backrest material: black mesh or any breathable and long-lasting material.

Seat pan material must be covered in a mid-grade material and have multiple style and color options. Lowest grade material/fabric options will not be considered.

Adjustable head/neck rest measuring from 9-10 in height and 15-16 in width.


WARRANTY

Standard industry warranty is required.

Vendor shall provide warranty info and contractor contacts to end user on products.


INSTRUCTION TO OFFERORS - DELIVERABLES/SUBMITTALS

Firm-fixed pricing for (100) ergonomic task chairs with head/neck rest.

2. Proposed model number, specifications, and warranty information, including recommended backrest style/material and seat pan material grade.

PRODUCT DELIVERY

All office chairs must be delivered to the San Diego Regional Office (SDRO) within 45 days after receipt of order.

Chair cleaning: Clean and dust all chair surfaces upon completion of build at installation. Use only approved non-toxic cleaners.

All office chairs must be fully assembled, inspected and delivered to a staging area on the 1st floor of the main VA building located at 8810 Rio San Diego Drive, San Diego, CA 92108. All packaging material must be removed from the site on the same day of delivery. The SDRO operating hours for product delivery is: 8:00 AM 4:00 PM.
